What I Did This Weekend: Greenwich Market

I’ve had a very rough week, hence why I have been very lazy on social media/blogging/life in general because I am trying to get my shit together. I won’t bore you about it now because that is a post for another day.

Anyway, this weekend I made Nick take me to Greenwich Market, because I was hungry, and there’s no better/worse place to go when you’re hungry than a food market.

I’ve loved the Greenwich Market from the first moment I arrived nearly three years ago, and we keep going back. I normally get the Ramen Burger, but sometimes I mix it up, like this time when I got a pulled pork wrap with BBQ sauce, cheese, lettuce, crispy onions, and coleslaw on a freshly made before your eyes flat bread. With a side of halloumi fries. Goat cheese is about the only cheese I can eat without needing to find a bathroom five seconds later, so it was a nice treat. I normally don’t eat pork, because I try not to eat mammals, but rules are meant to be broken.

Nick always gets a foot long German sausage (giggity) with some french fries, although last time he got a steak roast with the works, and my god it’s all so good. You really can’t go wrong with anything at this market.

To finish it off, we usually get those little dutch pancakes with nutella and Oreos to share, but this time spiced it up a little and got a nutella crepe from the new crepe stand. It was a damn fine choice, as it was probably the best crepe I’ve had and I’ve been to Paris. We also always get coffee from the grumpiest, rudest old man ever, but his coffee is a hidden gem of the market so we always go back. He only sells filter coffee though so don’t expect a latte or an americano, he’d probably just yell at you.

You can also look at a bunch of cool stuff people are selling like handmade soaps, textiles, clothing, and art, but honestly I just beeline for the food, and then usually I’ve eaten so much I just want to go home and take a nap. But I swear one of these days I’ll pay attention to what these local artisians are selling because I’m sure it’s some cool shit.

Also there’s always a bunch of cute doggos to pet at this market making this the best one in all of London probably.
